Evening Primrose Oil 1000mg

Evening Primrose Oil contains approximately 10 percent gamma linolenic acid (GLA), a fatty acid that the body converts to a hormone-like substance called prostaglandin E1.

Prostaglandin E1 is an important substance for the maintenance of healthy female hormone levels; and also helps to regulate blood pressure and maintain the condition of the skin.

Due to its female hormone regulating effects, evening primrose oil can help to regulate the menstrual cycle and is also often choosen by women experiencing menopausal symptoms, in particular by those experiencing 'hot flushes'.

Women with PMS in particular have been shown to have impaired conversion of linoleic acid (an essential fatty acid) to gamma linolenic acid (GLA). GLA deficiency has been shown to be a contributory factor to symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Due to its high GLA content, Evening Primrose Oil may therefore help to maintain well-being throughout the menstrual cycle.

This supplement provides a high strength 1000mg Evening Primrose Oil per capsule, which consists of approximately 10 percent GLA.

Capsule shell contains gelatin - not suitable for vegetarians.
