Folic Acid 400µg

This supplement provides Folic Acid at an optimum level for both safe guarding levels during pregnancy and reducing homocysteine levels associated with heart disease.

Folic acid is one of the B Vitamins which is particularly important in foetal development. It is recommended that women planning a pregnancy, and in the early stages of pregnancy (the first 12 weeks), should take a daily 400ug folic acid supplement.

Folic acid is also involved in controlling and reducing homocysteine levels. Elevated homocysteine levels are associated with an increased risk of heart disease. Recent studies suggest that 400ug of Folic acid per day is an appropriate level for adequate homocysteine reduction.
